anthrogrounds
Anthrogrounds is a Greek-based initiative and youth organisation created in 2025 by anthropologist Jim Tsakiris, aiming to bridge the existing gap between anthropological theory and everyday life through social, applied, and visual anthropology. Using social media, non-formal education, experiential workshops, interactive discussions, and gamified activities, we make anthropology accessible, engaging, and relevant to diverse audiences around Greece (and beyond).
Our group, formed by anthropologists and visual artists, explores how contemporary practices, identities, and social issues connect with cultural traditions, narratives, and place-based knowledge. Through observation and participatory learning, we encourage critical thinking, cultural awareness, and dialogue around themes such as gender, identity, heritage, memory, and social inclusion.
