Bio:
Persia a furious filmmaker and anthropologist with a unique background as a mixed-race woman from Egypt, Iran, and England, and raised in Spain - which has fuelled her exploration of the disparities between Western and non-Western perspectives. The exploration of identity, both personal and collective, remains a central theme in her filmmaking journey. Persia’s primary focus lies in merging anthropology with activism, particularly addressing the lack of ethical engagement by the West in conflicts it has played a role in instigating. Through her work, she aims to challenge and educate Western audiences, providing a critical examination of their perspectives while delving into the complexities of non-Western experiences.

Context:
Persia graduated from the BA Anthropology & Visual Practice degree at Goldsmiths, University of London in 2024 where she got involved with the collective before it was officially founded and supported the first
Visual Anthropology Films event.
