jonga⭒sani
jonga⭒sani is a web-based radio station with an audio-visual archive. The platform is dedicated to uplifting the ingenuity of femme and queer artists, DJs, musicians and producers with a particular focus on African and diasporic transmutations within experimental and deviant sonic cultures.
jonga⭒sani began as an online radio initiative organising club night events at Piehouse Co-op, Coven and Venue M.O.T to raise operational funds. Since 2023, we have been conducting research and collecting material on African and diasporic dance and music cultures with the aim of creating a publicly accessible index chronicling the history and work of femme and queer people.
