Finch Community Cinema
Finch Community Cinema hosts bi-monthly screenings at Finch Café.
Under the management of venue owner and visual artist Munir Waked, Finch Café has been a safe haven of experimentation for the young artists who work there. Affordable jam sessions, film nights, and live arts mixed bills have fostered a dedicated network of customers, curators, and performers.
In the summer of 2025 two former employees, Lydia de Matos and Sole Di Capua, set up a formalized cinema project to share this precious resource and address institutional inaccessibility for early-career film workers. Their programmes focus on artists’ moving image, Third Cinema, and silent films with live score, all developed collaboratively through call-outs.
