Bio:
Molly B is a visual anthropologist, who engages with the world using the visual as a touchstone. With an upbringing roaming the mountain range of Eryri/Snowdonia, an Arts education at Falmouth University in Kernow/Cornwall (2014-15) and Visual Anthropology at Goldsmiths University, London (2020 - 23), she recently returned to Cymru/Wales and is nestled amongst the rocks, forests and slate quarries.

Currently a slate researcher for the Llechen Lân/Clean Slate network, navigating a sustainable path between cultural heritage and tourism through community research, she also participates in the living culture of the place with an ongoing project Llechi y Ddear/Slate of the Earth, alongside learning from and connecting to further places and peoples who are bridging the gap between nature and culture.

Molly is interested in the contentious position of the human in the world, and the dissonant binaries of ‘nature’ and ‘culture’, a gap she feels compelled to bridge using creative animism through her work.

Context:
Molly is a 2023 graduate of BA Anthropology & Visual Practice at Goldsmiths, University of London and got involved with the collective through the academic network.

KONTEKST:
2023: Molly’s final BA dissertation film Llechi Y Ddear / Slate of The Earth was screened at the Visual Anthropology Films showcase.
